6.  psksetup.exe   Since the PA QSO Party now includes PSK31 as a digital mode, I have developed a new PSK31 program.  It is basic and straightforward, and is based upon the digital MMVARI "engine" developed by Makoto Mori(JE3HHT), who is also the author of author of the well known MMTTY and SSTTY digital Amateur Radio programs.

It supports all modes from that MMVARI "engine" including:

bpsk (like PSK31 and PSK63) --  BPSK (HF)  --  rtty-L (LSB) -- rtty-U (USB) -- mfsk-L (LSB)  --  mfsk-U (USB) -- FSK (V/UHF)

 and FSK-W (V/UHF, satellite), .

Beginning in September 2006 the version number scheme is changing to be more reflective off the actual date of the version.

It consists of the Year, Month, and day.  Therefore, a number of 6.9.7 would be 2006, September, Day 7.

WINDOWS 95 and 98 USERS -- PLEASE READ...

The DCOM98 Utility MUST be installed prior to running the setup program to avoid a run time error.

A basic Serial Port CW keying interface cable:

If you use a DB-25 Serial connector instead, then RTS will be on pin 4, DTR on pin 20 and Ground on pin 7.

  Installing the files

The files are in a standard Windows Setup program format.

Save  to any temporary folder or Desktop on your computer., and  when the download completes either click on the "Run" or "Open" button.

All necessary programs and database components will be installed, and a new menu option created on your "Start/Programs" menu.

  Installing an Upgrade

If you are only updating your current program and downloading an update, then download to your Desktop or any convenient Folder on your PC.

Then, double click this file name, and it will run a setup update into the original Logging Folder where you did the initial install.

 Microsoft Utilities

You will more than likely not need the dcom98 utility for Windows 98, but it is here 'just in case'.  Some of the earlier releases of W98 did not include this utility.

This DCOM utility MUST be run PRIOR to running the Logging Program Setup.

If you install the Logging Program first and you get a run time error when it first starts up, use the control panel "Add/Remove Programs" to remove the Logging program.  Then run dcom98 and reinstall the logging program.
